SUMMER 2010 INFORMATION

 

 

 

The Turning Point Dance Academy Summer

session will be a 6 week sessions beginning

Tuesday July 6th and ending on Wednesday

August 18th.

 

Sessions will run one week at a time and students may

select which weeks they will be attending.

 

Weeks are broken down as follows:

 

Week 1: July 6, 7

Week 2: July 13, 14

Week 3: July 20, 21

Week 4: August 3, 4

Week 5: August 10, 11

Week 6: August 17, 18

 

            Please see below for schedule and fees. Fees are set per hour/per week.  

Registration will begin June 1st and continue throughout the summer program,

or until classes are full. Please note that full tuition payment is due at the time of

registration. Once your registration form has been handed in, your attendance

will be expected on the weeks you have chosen to attend.

This will help instructors know how many students will attend each class, and allow

them to plan accordingly. You may not change weeks or swap hours without first

contacting the studio.

 

            Because this schedule allows for students to plan around vacations

and outings, prorates and refunds will not be given unless a class is cancelled

due to low enrollment after fees have been paid.

    

            Instructions on filling out registration form:

1. Select how many hours per week you will attend.

See chart to find out the fee schedule per week.

 

2. Select which weeks you will attend

 

3. Multiply the "per week" fee by how many weeks you will be attending.

This is your tuition for the summer.

 

 

Proper shoes will be required for all dance classes.  

 

Ballet students must wear a black leotard with pink tights and have hair in a secure bun.

No specific style or colors are necessary for other summer classes.

Turning Point Dance AcademySummer of Arts Camp 2010  

The Summer of Arts Camp will be a three hour program offered twice per week

(Tuesday and Wednesday mornings).

 

Camp will be for children ages 3-5.

 

Camp sessions will run from 9:00am to 12:00pm each day.

 

Each week will have a different theme and activities

will follow our theme of the week:

 

Week 1: Red, White and Blue                                    Week 4: At the Beach

Week 2: Pajama Party                                                Week 5: Disney

Week 3: At the Circus                                                Week 6: Dance Party

 

Camp will have the following activities: 30 minutes of acrobatics,

30 minutes of jazz/hip hop, 30 minutes of ballet, 30 minutes of tap,

30 minutes of “On Broadway”, a 15 minute snack period, and a

15 minute special activity.

 

Snacks are to be sent from home, require NO refrigeration or warming up,

and should be able to be eaten within a 15 minute period.

Please provide all utensils, napkins, etc that your child will need. Drinks are

recommended; water is preferred. Children will have access to their own

drinks throughout the 3 hour period, but will only eat during their designated

snack time. Turning Point Dance Academy will not provide any food to students.

There is no water fountain in our facility, but students are welcome to refill

water bottles from the tap in the sinks if needed. For the safety of all of our students

please do not send ANY peanut products.

 

When filling out registration form, please let us know if you will be coming on Tuesday

or Wednesday, or if you will be attending both days each week.

Tuition:

Tuition will be due at the first class of each month. 

There will be a $10 late fee assessed to any account that is not paid

by the 10th of the month.

 

Please drop tuition checks made out to Turning Point Dance Academy in the tuition box

located on the inside wall to the left of the studio entry door.  There will be no refunds

for missed classes.  Make-ups are available in the event a scheduled class is missed. 

Check with your teacher to see what time an appropriate make-up is available. 

Tuition will remain the same for each month.  Some months will have 4 weeks,

others will have 5, some will have 3.

Credit cards will be accepted at the studio as well.

 

Dress Code:  Please check the dress code for each class your child is enrolled in.

Proper dance shoes must be worn at all times (see attached Page 4 for shoe requirements).
Hair must be secured off the face for the entire class time.  NO jewelry should be worn

during class.  Students who wear jewelry to class will be asked to remove it. In order

to prevent lost jewelry, please leave it home.  Turning Point Dance Academy

accepts no responsibility for lost jewelry.

 

Registration Form:  No student will be permitted to participate in any class until a

signed and completed registration form is received.  Registration fees are collected once

annually in September.

 

Bulletin Boards: There are bulletin boards located inside the studio lobby on the

back of the doors to Rooms #1 and #2.  Information is posted periodically throughout

the year.  Please check the board for any information that may be pertinent to our

students.  Notices are also sent via email if you have provided an address to Turning Point. 

Most notices provide information about due dates, event times, etc.

 

Pick Up Procedures: We are located on the third floor of our building. Turning

Point Dance Academy does not recommend that any child under the age of 10 be allowed

to walk to and from the studio alone. Please see bottom section of registration form 

 and initial indicating the instructions for your child.

 

Cell Phones: Students will be required to leave all cell phones in their dance bags in

the lobby.  In the event you need to reach your child please call the studio directly.

  

Inclement Weather: In the event of bad weather, please call the studio phone number

and the voicemail will give pertinent information about class cancellations.  Individual

phone calls will not be made.  Please note that we do NOT follow all school holiday

closing schedules.

For families with more than one child enrolled in classes, the child who takes the most class hours is considered “1st Child”; the child who takes the second greatest amount of class hours is considered “2nd Child”   

 Please note that prices in the chart above are monthly totals. 

Any one student who is enrolled for 5 ½ or more hours is considered to be at the “unlimited” level and may take as many hours per week as they wish while only paying the 5 ½ hour fees.  The “unlimited” level is per student NOT per family.

Ballet and Pointe- (Full hour classes)
Pink tights (footed or convertible), black leotard, hair in tight, neat bun. Skirts are optional and must be wrap style only.  
 
Jazz- Leotard (any color), tights (any color and style), knee pads, hair tightly secured off face. 
Modern- Leotard (any color), tights (footless, stirrup or convertible), knee pads, hair tightly secured off face. 
Tap- Leotard (any color) tights (any style), shorts optional over leotard and tights, hair tightly secured off face. 
Lyrical- Leotard (any color) tights (any style), knee pads, hair tightly secured off face. 
Acro- Leotard (any color) tights (stirrup, convertible, or footless), hair tightly secured off face **NO ADDITIONAL CLOTHING. 
Stretch, Jumps &Turns- Leotard (any color) tights (any style), hair tightly secured off face. 
Combo Classes (Ballet/Tap)-  Leotard (any color) tights (any style), hair tightly secured off face, ballet skirts optional. **Students who take back to back Ballet/Tap and Acro DO NOT wear a leotard with an ATTACHED skirt. Please also wear stirrup or convertible tights. 
Hip Hop (all levels)- Leotard (any color) tights (any style), hair tightly secured off face. Jazz pants that are ABOVE the ankle or shorts may also be worn (optional).
